Love the course. Everyone was awesome and enthusiastic. Very well organized. I love the shirt and I appreciate the option to have the packet mailed.
I love that there was an option to do the race virtually and choose my location, go at my own pace, and upload my results. This was a great way to exercise and support a worthy cause.
Wow thank goodness for some shade cuz the sun mixed with humidity would have killed me:) Awesome volunteers all the way! Great organization...not one hiccup. LOVE the DIY race swag. I missed some post race fun in med tent (awesome paramedics and volunteers there too!!). Just a friendly great race. Not one frown face!
This was a great scenic, well-organized run. The pacers really helped. The food at the end was terrific as well, especially the barbecue sandwiches.
F2B! It was an early rise, but SO worth it! The history behind your race, the stories told, the route with its historical character, the electricity of the runners, this was an A+ event.
This is my 6th year running this race & I am never disappointed. This truly is one of my favorite races. So much fun!
I love this race, bar none my favorite of the season. Love the patriotism!
Fort 2 Base is a well-run event, celebrating the American military and personal fitness. Love the patriotic medals and shirts too! Glad to do this one, year after year.
This race was awesome from the beginning to the end! Had a great time afterwards meeting and talking with people. Can't wait to run this one again!
As a vet and someone who was attached to Fort Sheridan I have wanted to do this race for some time and it did not disappoint. Well laid out and supported. The ONPace group was awesome and Aubrey and Abby made it possible for me to finish right where I needed to be. Everything from the shuttles to the race to the fantastic finish made for a great experience. And running through the Historic Tower at Fort Sheridan was quite memorable and a stop and take a pic moment. 11.5 miles is no joke but I am glad I did it and would consider doing it again for sure. The race was a great training run for my marathon training.
This race was the best course to run. It was historic, scenic, and made one feel a sense of gratitude for all those that serve and have served. I am always looking for opportunities to run races were proceeds can be used to benefit a cause and I could not think of one more worthy than Fort2Base. This race was incredibly well organized! The pacers did a phenomenal job. Can’t say enough regarding the positive and fun experience it was.
This was my 2nd year running this race and this has to be one of my favorite races! Everything is set up great and everyone is so amazing and helpful! This year, I ran with the 13:00 minute pacers and they were awesome!!! They were great about helping me stay focused and motivated! I don't know if I could have finished the race without their support! Best pacers ever!!! I ran this year in memory of my dad (he passed away in December and he graduated from the Naval Academy at Great Lakes Naval Base), so this was an emotional race for me this year! I'm so happy that I decided to do this race again! I look forward to doing this again in the future!
From the very first email to the dropping off at Rosalind Franklin University fort2base was DEDICATED!!! Each person in the organization gave their best to provide a wonderful event and each participant seemed to DEDICATE themselves to having the best experience possible. It is easy to say everyone DEDICATED their efforts and spirit to our branches of military!!
The medals and race shirts are second to none. The post-race party is also excellent. The bus transports to the race were timely and plentiful.
One of the best races in Northern Illinois. The after Party is the best. I still wish we could run up Hero Hill but with the heat of August it is still a tough race. I will be in in again next year.
Although the 3NM run course is just average, everything else about this event is top notch! Registration, packet pickup, shirt, medal, water stop, and post race party-- all rate a 10. Keep up the great work.
It was my first time running Fort2Base race and my very longest life run of 11.5 miles. I had a blast, could not have picked a better race to run! Gorgeous view, friendly volunteers, overcast/mild weather, cool medal, really cold water stations!! Thank you for a memorable Sunday morning run and kudos to the servicemen and women for protecting our country!
Well organized and a fun race course! Will do this race every year!
Really enjoy this race! Buses were timely and ran very often both at the start and at the end of the 3NM race. I really appreciated that aspect. Lots of great vendors and Loot at the end!!
Well organizes, we'll planned route, great staff, great post race event
Great food, drink, and swag is always amazing. Beth puts her heart and soul into this race and it shows. This race is also very well-organized which is why some many of us keep coming back.
Race is always nice and keep doing that on the years to come. I think you should improve the race website with more exciting stuff: example race course, shirt pictures, etc. and it would be great, whenever we could go back to the finish line, inside the naval base!
Taylor and I make it a point to visit Chicago every year and find a race or activity. Taylor found this race and we decided to kick off our vacation with it. The elevation was nice, the route was fun, and the staff were super helpful. Honestly, I would do this again. I would have of loved to stay longer after the race, but we also accidentally signed up for a tough mudder on the same day.
This race is run smooth, before during and after. I had a few questions before and after and Beth was back to me in no time at all. This is a great race!
This was very well organised and had great atmosphere. The medal was super cool and I loved my running tank that I wore during the race. Will definitely do this again next year!
Well organized. Great hydration stations and a fab end of race celebration.
I really like the focus of the race being military appreciation and veterans. Also use of the geography and proximity of an Army Fort to a Naval Base theme..
This race has been the most consistently well run that I participate in. Both the 10nm and 3 nm races were flawless AGAIN. Thanks to Beth and all of her volunteers.
What a great experience! I was able to participate in an event I couldn't attend in person. Excellent and clear communication leading up to race day. Received race packet and bling as promised! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
From start to finish ... registration, packet pickup, and the race itself this is definitely one of the best. I love the environment, being surrounded by veterans and those who support us. You always go out of your way in allowing participants to help in picking the swag which is always a win-win. The medals are super cool and the staff is so friendly. All in all Fort2Base is worthy of much more than a 10. As a veteran, I am honored to be able to participate in this event year after year. One of the coolest parts is the fact that you have veterans in uniform for all the branches to place the medal on your neck. I love it. Already excited and looking forward to 2023.
My only piece of feedback is having a better marked course and a map available at least 24 hours prior to the race.
The race was a straight out and back, not the one that went through town. Also, will this race ever go into Great Lakes Naval Base? I will do the race again, the post-race party is always great.
Fort2Base is a well run race. I like the route and like all the correspondence, packet pickup convenience etc. I would like to see us able to run through fort sheridan as I heard we did years ago
Another great race! Thank you F2Base for a well organized race. Great course, energy, and cause. Thank you to all who serve our country!
Love this race! It’s always well organized. Would love to see the race back on the base. :)
Fantastic race once again this year, so proud not only to participate but to be an Ambassador. I truly enjoy promoting and sharing my health journey and trying to inspire as many people as possible. Looking forward to 2023 and enjoying the ability to be racing in person again. Keep up the great work.
This was my first Marathon. I really enjoyed it. All the runners were very supportive and cheering each other on as well as the Volunteers. I will definitely sign up again next year. Thank you so much for this opportunity. ❤️
Always a well organized race and very well attended. Everything went smooth without a hitch. First year that I fund raised for Headstrong and am proud of my accomplishment. Helping Veterans warms my heart. Thanks for an awesome race.
From organizing. Emails. Updates. Water stations. Rewards and after party. You are the best and this why we keep going back to run 🏃♂️
Always enjoyable and well controlled
Even though it's pretty much a straight run - it's fun! Well organized, well marked, and plenty of water stations. Post race medals and food/drinks are always good. Good music and nice to meet the Navy volunteers afterwards!
Love the course. Everyone was awesome and enthusiastic. Very well organized. I love the shirt and I appreciate the option to have the packet mailed.
this race was gifted to me by a friend and I'm so glad she did...this was one of the most organized, well-run {no pun intended} races...the weather was amazing...all the volunteers were friendly, fun and super helpful...This will definitely be on my "must-run" list every year!!! The merchandise was incredible and to have a custom made hoodie is perfect...the after party was so much fun and the energy ...so much energy!
I've done a lot of races and this by far is the best. Between the organization, the finish line, the ease of the starting process, this is the best race I've ever been a part of.
Such a fun experience and great route! Felt like I was out for a nice cool stroll!
My second running of Fort to Base 10 NM. Wow this year so much cooler! Best race support from sign up, pick up, volunteers along the way and the post race party.Race course is beautiful. This race is super organized. Great swag and LOVE the ready to print items you can pick from after the race.
I heard so many great stories from friends that ran it in previous years that I finally wanted to do it. Luckily a friend connected me with onpace, a pacer organisation that let me join them for this years' race. The race was well organized, the emails beforehand were frequent and informative. The aid station volunteers were super friendly and supportive and the military staff that was present at locations all over the course made it really special. The route was beautiful albeit it would have been amazing to run through the naval base, in that regard and because of safety issues I did not see anything. All runners and pacers were positive and I got to know quite a few new people. I also met runners I hadn't seen in a long time and we caught up with refreshments and good food after the race. I will sign up for this race again and recommend to others. Oh, did I mention that the shirt is pretty cool and the medal is huge! My kids were very impressed!
Very well organized race, cool fast course. Nice post race party. Award ceremony was nice and great prizes. It was great to see the armed forces members welcome us throughout the race. Will likely be back...
This was an amazing race.
This was my first time running Fort2Base. I was very impressed. Beautiful course, great organizations, great pacers (admission - I was one), and good beer at the end.
This race was absolutely amazing. The volunteers really kept the energy up and made this race enjoyable
Awesome organization! Easy registration, packet pick up, shuttle buses, running trail easily marked, streets blocked for safety, hydration stop, :) photographers, great motivational posters towards the finish line, the after event vendors, food/fruits/beverages were perfect! And the volunteers—THANK You!!
One of my favorite races for myself & my father. Great to share with family & friends. Great course, after party & can’t beat the support of our service men and women! We’ll put together race full of fun!
Another year and another perfect race. Could not beat the weather this year and wonderful support from service members and volunteers. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped out. I look forward to 2024. As my family generations before me served in world war 2, Vietnam in the Army. Being I did not serve I feel I can do my part by brining my support.
Too many compliments. Great course, great volunteers, great after party. The people bring this together and make it great. I know you have no control but the weather was even perfect. I hope to see you again next year.
This is well-organized & easy to participate in. Thank you! (The music could be a little quieter-- sorry, I'm old!)
Wonderful run. Love the gatorade after too
Bus driver missed our destination stop. The course was a nice , neutral terrain , except some parts of uneven road due to cracks and small potholes. Well organized in set up and volunteer stations. Overall great job everyone ! I will do this again next year.
This is a smaller race that is as well-run as the most famous giant marathons. Everything feels smooth and easy, and you are supported by the best volunteers and the friendliest running community in the business. The entire operation is organized with military precision - but with plenty of charm, too! While crowd support is sparse along the way, the volunteers more than make up for it. Even the back of the packers like me will find an encouraging group of folks to help each other stay motivated along the course. This is not a race that will pack up the aid stations before you reach them - everyone is welcomed! The post race party is fantastic, the merch is high quality and reasonably priced, and this is just an all around good time. This is the race I find a way to do year after year, through injuries and hard times, and I look forward to it all year long. If you’re on the fence - DO IT!
This race is truly one of a kind. Simply amazing to say it best. I love the history, the course, the organization/communication, post race party, and the MEDAL!
The weather was gorgeous….the course was in great condition and in the shade !!! Would definitely recommend and would do it again
It is a beautiful course, the best swag, a medal you would die for, and the best afterparty. oh and very well organized
Very well organized and communicated. I absolutely love this race and the course. Every person I had the honor to run along with or share a moment with post race were incredibly good people.
Tremendous event. The energy is excellent and it is a wonderful race that honors our service members across all military branches. The weather was simply perfect and the WWII reenactors were pretty cool. I appreciate everyone who participated on behalf of the US Army and Fort Sheridan. See you next year!
One of the biggest things for me that I seen was "leadership by example" Not only were the Officers at the start of this great event but they were all along the course handing out water at the stations and helping. I have never seen so much brass and I'm mean from a 2nd Lieutenant up to several Full Birds Colonels I made sure to salute every office I seen. The enlisted I gave them a happy "carry on" and a Big Thank You for there Service. This Race event Rocks Some how we need to do something pre race to Honor our service members who are there for us. As a veteran I want to thank everyone in Uniform for your service to us.
The race logistics were well-organized and it was a great course. The on-pace team was great. All volunteers were very helpful and encouraging throughout the race. Great event I'll definitely do again!
Awesome race! Well organized and great post race after party. Will be back next year !
I’ve run this race every year except the inaugural year and I still love it. It is well organized and I still enjoy the course despite some changes made several years ago. Love the military presence and support. The post race party was better than ever this year with fresh fruit, sub sandwiches and beer and hard seltzers available plus music and vendors. I’ll be back again next year.
Everything about this event was great! From registration and the event informational magazine, to generous packet pick up options, to the awesome race day atmosphere and post-race party, this was the best race I’ve ever done!!
An amazing race and it gets better each year!
One of my favorite races, I do it every year with friends.
Was a great race! My favorite part was the WWII reenactment serving SOS. It was a well organized event.
12th Annual event, and it gets better every year. The course is basically the same course for years now, but the after race festivities just keep getting better. Besides the customary bananas and Gatorade, there were Sandwiches and beer, and a large number of sponsors booths providing info and giveaways. The t-shirts and medals are always first class, and this year was no exception. The 10 nautical mile finisher's medal is massive, and a great tribute to all of the branches of the Armed Forces. Thanks Beth. I'll be back next year.
This race is so well organized and put together. The course is predominantly on a shaded trail. Great shirt design and a HUGE American flag finisher medal. Excellent food options at the finish. A true 5 star race that I would highly recommend
I've loved this race ever since my family sucked me in. The course is a good variety of streets and trails, the swag and medal are always good and the post-race party is great.
F2B has always been a great race. Info, organizers and response to questions is great. The 3NM course could be improved. Part of the course seems like it's "off-road" with uneven pavement etc. I have always been happy with the medal and swag given.
A fun race and well organized. Course is laid out well. Love the booths to pick-up freebies and be able to buy shirts.
